Scarecrow Day
The ever popular MORE FM Scarecrow Day for RDA will be on Sunday 4th March 2012.
Scarecrow Day is a country fair style, family oriented fun event. There is an action packed, FUN day for families and friends, young and old.
Be part of a creative bonanza. Enter your own scarecrow in the competition and be in to win fantastic prizes. All scarecrows will be auctioned after lunch with the total proceeds going to RDA.
There is a sausage sizzle, coffee and other refreshments available. Bring your own picnic lunch or enjoy the food and drinks available on the day.
There are old fashioned fun activities and organised farmyard games like 3-legged, egg and spoon and sack races, a bouncy castle, face painting, cowpat bingo and pony rides.
Prize categories include those constructed by schools, families and corporates along with viewer’s choice. There is also a living scarecrow section culminating in a scarecrow fashion parade, although, we’re not sure that these ones will be auctioned!

Hastings RDA group is heavily involved in organising and running the event alongside A Maze 'n' Fun and MORE FM.

What is Riding for the Disabled all about?
RDA in Hawke’s Bay is a charitable organisation run by a group of volunteers. They provide therapeutic horse riding and horse care education for people of all ages with disabilities. Horses and ponies are specially selected and trained for the work. Come and meet some of these special horses and special people at the MORE FM Scarecrow Day.
