Business and land for sale
A Maze 'n' Fun is a lifestyle business set on 20ha of good cropping land just 4km south of Hastings city. The business is for sale, preferably as a going concern including land and buildings. However, we will entertain the idea of selling the business alone, to be relocated somewhere else in Hawke's Bay. It is reasonably relocatable.A Maze n Fun Limited began as an Amazing Maze 'n Maize licensed operation in the summer of 2003/04. This business has quickly become an important part of the tourism and entertainment scene in Hawkes Bay.
The business is built on a rural theme and the core values of education, fun and sustainability are evident throughout. Although visitors to Hawkes Bay make up a large percentage of the customer base during January, the appeal to locals of all ages is the main target market.
Through the eight years of operation, quality infrastructure and other activities have been added to ensure a sustainable business. These developments have included: toilet block, 3D Vortex Tunnel experience, Puddle Pad and in 2010, Corncob Crazy Golf.
Although the Amazing Maze 'n Maize activities including the day maze and haunted shows are part of a license, the recently added PuddlePad and Corncob Crazy Golf, including rights, are owned by A Maze 'n' Fun Ltd. A re-branding of the business to be known as A Maze 'n' Fun was begun in 2010.
For the two months leading into the season (Nov/Dec) and for the summer season, the business employs two full time people, currently husband & wife owners. Additional casual staff are required to operate the Amazing Day Maze during the school holidays of January and April along with the haunted shows.
There is a quality architecturally designed 4 bdrm homestead with extensive gardens situated on the property. Other essential lifestyle block infrastructure includes haybarn, sheep/cattle yards, pig sty, chook shed and sound fencing.
Of the 20ha farm, the maize crop, business and parking use approximately 6.5ha. The current owners lease 11ha to an export onion grower and the remainder is in pasture and used to graze three cows, 20 sheep and various other lifestyle block animals. There is a 100mm bore located centrally and an irrigation consent is in place.
